It would be very easy for Gordan to dodge most of MCs attacks and Gordan could kill MC in 1 hit because a punch in the back can kill him in 1 hit a punch to the front can kill in around 2-4 hits imagine what a crowbar would do and if need be Gordan could get behind MC easily considering that MC cant run... if Gordan wanted to he could LITERALLY run circles around MC and in ranged the guns in H2 suck there weaker than actually punching some one a slingshot beats most of the guns in H2

Master Chief is a super soldier who has gone trough many operations, just to make him stronger and more endurable. He has been trained to kill, to fight for humanity. And he is a veteran. Still, Master Chief fails at his task. And receives minus points for being a boring and unoriginal character.

Gordon Freeman is a doctor of theoretical physics and hasn't been trained for firefight beyond Hazard course. He is the "Free Man" when all other humanity are prisoners. He frees mankind. Pretty well done, especially when compared to superhuman who has had military training and experience in combat.

Also if we compare HEV suit and Master Chief's armor, HEV suit doesn't only protect from projectiles, but also from radiation, hazardous chemicals, heat and many other sorts of things that can be lethal. Master Chief's armor is quickly burned out by anything that isn't based on kinetic energy. If both are fully charged, HEV suit is better in every way.

As a final blow, Master Chief has mostly useless allies whose only job seems to be charging in battle and getting shot, while the Resistance - especially Alyx - and vortigaunts get things done without Freeman constantly herding them around.

Master Chief's armor recharges quickly, I give him that, but the speed Freeman masters things, versatility of his suit, and his allies just don't leave the odds very bright for Master Chief.

Gordan Freeman, he has a MIT degree and therefore is smarter, plus his also got full armor, if you've server seen the suit outside of Gordan, its got an optional helmet. Finally, Most of Master Chief's Weapons can be outwitted with the Gravity Gun.

Also MC is a soilder and Freeman is a man of science and, in fact, has a PHd in theoridical physics so he is an ordiary man... who goes round killing everyone with a crowbar

As was said before, this is not the winner of a fight. It is a comparison of the characters.
It is a difficult choice... both are revered as legends in there own universe. Both are symbols of courage who motivate us and those around them with an unbreakable spirit and an incredible will to fight for what is right.
That said, I choose Gordon. In a choice between a super-soldier and an everyman in regards to combat training, I find it more inspiring when the latter rises to the occasion.

Pfffft.....Gordon would just lead the MC into a trap and totally banana phone his ass. I mean come on, Gordon just has "it", no military training, no combat background, and he wipes the floor with zen, race x, and the combine not to mention all the &#(*!^$ antlions. Master chief is just some military drone while Gordon would be that guy who in the chiefs time they write stories about. Tell their kids Gordan Freeman is going to come save them all, which he would. Man... this was a tough choice because I do love both characters and think they are both cool but seriously, Gordon is better than the Chief. People on the Gordon side make some pretty good points. Gordon is just a regular guy with glasses and a crowbar and he still manages to kick some Combine ass. Don't get me wrong though, Master Chief is an excellent character as well, but my vote goes to Freeman.

This is how I think of it....MC needs a whole damn arsenal to take down a few covenant. Gordon needs a fucking crowbar to take down an army of multiple alien races. Besides, you have to admit... Those glasses are pretty cool XD.

Gordon Freeman, on the other hand, is just some normal guy (Seriously nothing is special about this guy. His degree goes to complete waste during the game.), his suit and health don't regenerate themselves, and somehow he still saves the human race twice. Clear winner.
